Water is the very essence of life, around 70% of our planet is made up of water and we ourselves are made up of around 75% water. it is fundamental to our very being, some say water is alive or indeed IS life, some say water has memory. It is certainly true that if our water is compromised it will have a devastating knock on effect in terms of the environment and all life.
Notable individuals who studied and observed water include Viktor Shauberger (1885-1958)
A forester, naturalist, biomimicry advocate, philosopher and inventor. He had a holistic approach to the 'science of nature' and described how we have 2 motions in nature - Outward expanding flow used to breakdown and an inward spiralling flow used to build up and energies, also known as the two fold movement principle. Through observation and also learning from his father, also a forester he learnt that water currents get stronger at night when water is coolest and when water gets warm it effectively gets tired and curls up to sleep! He studied vortexes and how a spiral is an underlying pattern in which forces of nature work in co-operation. He designed effective log flumes, a water purifying machine and a suction turbine among other things applying these principles learnt from the water into engineering.

Another notable person in this area is Dr. Masaru Emoto, the Japanese scientist who revolutionized the idea that our thoughts and intentions impact the physical realm, is one of the most important water researchers the world has known. For over 20 years until he passed away in 2014, he studied the scientific evidence how the molecular structure in water transforms when it is exposed to human words, thoughts, sounds and intentions.

THE DR EMOTO RICE EXPERIMENT

Dr. Emoto places rice into three glass beakers and then fills the beakers with enough water to submerge the rice. To the first beaker, he states the phrase “Thank you,” “You’re an idiot” to the second, and ignores the third. A month later, the rice that was thanked fermented and gave a pleasant smell. The rice that was affronted turned black. Finally, the rice that was ignored began to rot. So I thought I would give it a go and this is what happened.....
WEEK ONE
WEEK TWO
WEEK THREE
While not of course a controlled science experiment, the 'you are an idiot' rice went completely mouldy, the ignored rice started to ferment then stopped and grew a small amount of mould but mostly did nothing, while the rice that was told 'thank you' although growing a small amount of mould, did start and continue to ferment quite profusely! It certainly gives you food....or should that be water for thought! Ive started seeing water as an external and internal substance that links us all on this planet, comparable to the mycorrhizal fungi that grows underground, in many ways comparable to the neural transmitters in our own brains. Perhaps it will make you think twice about those harsh words and thoughts we tell ourselves and others and be conscious of replacing them with loving compassionate ones instead, Interestingly Dr. Emoto also talked about how we treat children is especially important. According to Emoto, we should take special care in how we interact with them and ensure that attention is given. Whatever you take from this, there is certainly much we can learn from water and we should definitely be looking after and respecting our water as best we can because there is one thing that is beyond doubt....
WATER IS LIFE!!
